Donated Rs.18000/- to our Adult Literacy Centre

Our club donated Rs. 18,000/- to our Adult Literacy Centre on 16th June 2026 at FEED campus. President handed over a cheque of Rs 18000/- to Sri Chadra Sekhar Kundu who runs the organization "FEEDS "(Food, Education & Economic Development Society)- where we run our Adult Literacy School for the betterment of underprivileged community. Since 2023, with the dedicated support and funding of the Rotary Club of Asansol Greater, FEED has been running a transformative Adult Education program for Mothers. By educating the mothers of his students, Mr. Kundu isn't just teaching a generation—he is empowering the pillars of the family. This program is a testament to what we can achieve when Rotary's resources meet FEED’s relentless grassroots execution.

Donated Rs5000/- to our RCC on Rabindra Jayanti Pr

R C Asansol Greater donated Rs. 5000/- to our RCC Asansol Gram Sab Payechir Asar on the day of Rabindra Jayanti Celebration on 9th May 2026. President Sachindra Nath Roy along with other members attended the program. A cheque of Rs. 5000/- was handed over to the secretary of RCC for their expenses in the community. The program was followed by a cultural program and high tea. School children were participated in the program.

Distribution of Artificial Limb to the Needy

Saksham- A humanitarian project of our club for providing free Artificial Limbs, Calliper and Prosthetic Legs camp to the needy in association with Rotary Club of Calcutta Presidency (RID 3291) and Mahavir Seva Sadan, Kolkata from22nd to 24th March 2026 at Parboti Marriage Hall. The Camp focussed on high quality, durable, maintenance free limbs for eligible beneficiaries. First day of the camp was inaugurated by Swami Somatmananda Ji Maharaj and the 2nd day of the camp was inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister Sri Moloy Ghatak in presence of very eminent persons of Asansol Finally, Patient served by providing Legs: 48, Wheelchair donated: 2, Walker: 3 We had many important personalities of Asansol which made our programme colourful and meaningful. Thanks to our members who helped financially and with their kind presence and all members of our club for their encouragement, 12 RCC members & special gratitude to Rtn Subir Roy for giving us the best support in executions.

Donation of Grocery Items at Swa Shakti Home

We celebrated International Women’s Day at Swa Shakti Home- A home for destitute Girls. On this day, President Rtn Sachindra Nath Roy celebrated their marriage anniversary along with first lady Mita Roy at Swa Shakti Home by cutting a cake. Women’s day was also celebrated with the inmates of Swa Shakti Home by cutting another cake by lady Rotarians and other lady members present there. On this occasion, President donated grocery items (Ata, sugar, masur dal, mustard oil, Haldi powder, Jeera Powder, salt, detergent powder, Phenyl etc.) to the home as per their requirement. We spent some time with them.

Celebrated Rotarys Birthday ....in a unique way at Asha Niketan...a Home for Mentally and Physically challenged boys and girls. Rotary is for all, big or small, rich or poor. Rotarys Motto...Service Above Self is Truely reflected in this program. Cutting cake in honour of Rotary, spending some precious moments with those ill-fated boys and girls and sponsoring Lunch for them. Dances performed by boys and girl was worth seeing. Celebrated 121 Rotarys Birthday at Ashaniketan with especially abled child. Spent some quality time with them and donated 3 nos. of Ceiling Fan sponsored by our members Rtn Sachindra Nath Roy, Rtn Tapas Ghose and Rtn Mihir Roy. Our club also donated an amount of Rs 5000/- for their lunch. The program was covered by press and electronic media.

Smart Class under District 3240 Foundation Grant

Our Club installed a Smart Class at Jamuria Namopara F P School in a remote tribal village with the financial help of District 3240 Foundation Grant. This School has six classrooms and caters around 140 students from Classes Pre-Primary to Class V. The Smart Class was inaugurated by DG Dr. Kameswar Singh Elangbam during his official Club visit on 8th February 2026 in presence of AG, Zone-I, our Club members, School Students, Parents, Teachers, many dignitaries of that area and media personnel. By providing Smart Class in this school, Rotary did a great job in the field of education. The Smart Class is now being used regularly from Pre-Primary to Class V. It has made a noticeable difference in our classrooms. The children are more attentive and excited to learn. Visual lessons have helped them understand their subjects more clearly. For our 140 students, most of whom come from underprivileged families, this facility is a big opportunity.

Hosted District RYLA PINNACLE from 26th - 28th Dec

District RYLA Camp – “PINNACLE” with 54 RYLAians was inaugurated on 26th Dec 26. The inaugural programme was graced by Chief Guest IPDG Sukhminder Singh. President delivered the welcome address. Chief Guest IPDG Sukhminder Singh motivated the young participants to lead with integrity, discipline, and social responsibility. The three-day residential RYLA camp aims to develop leadership skills, teamwork, self-confidence, and ethical values among youth through structured sessions and experiential learning. Participants will actively take part in sports, recreational games, art & craft, best-out-of-waste competition, treasure hunt, talent hunt, campfire activities, and group performances, which enhanced creativity, confidence, and teamwork. Celebration of Children’s Day in a unique way at Asansol North Point School. We celebrated Children’s Day at Asansol North Point School with our Interact Club members on 14th November 2025. The program started with lighting the Lamp by President Sachindra Nath Roy and other dignitaries present there and opening song by the Interactors. Different Parade activities shown by the Interactors. Sports is part and parcel of our lives...and supporting a Yoga/ Athlete should be our aim. Supporting a Yoga sport in their darkest hour due to their financial crunch is the biggest service that a Rotarian can do. With the same mentality and aim, we helped one young Girl YOGA participant Pausali from West Bardhhaman, Asansol, financially to fulfil her dream of participating in events on the world scenario. R C Asansol Greater donated Rs. 9000/- to a young needy girl Pousali for participating in an International Yoga competition at Malayasia. She came out before the world with flying colors. Chicken curry was excellent. All the students were happy. Captured some moments of joy...with the smiling and innocent boys and girls. We enjoyed a lot. The first edition of SSC-MUN 1.0 was hosted by Asansol North Point School under the aegis of the Sahodaya School Complex (SSC) on the theme “Geopolitical Tensions Leading to Global War Situations.” The conference provided an excellent platform for students to understand the dynamics of international relations, sharpen their debating skills, and develop leadership qualities through the simulation of United Nations proceedings. On the occasion of Presidents Birthday, R C Asansol Greater organised a Blood Donation Camp in association with Asansol North Point School at Parbati Teacher’s Institute, Nigha on 23rd August 2025 marking a day of service and celebration. The celebration was graced by Swami Bharupananda Ji Maharaj, Headmaster of Asansol Ramakrishna Mission School, as the special guest. Rotary Club of Asansol Greater organised a debate competition in association with Asansol North point School, our newborn Interact Club. The first edition of SSC-MUN 1.0 was hosted by Asansol North Point School under the aegis of the Sahodaya School Complex (SSC) on the theme “Geopolitical Tensions Leading to Global War Situations.” The conference provided an excellent platform for students to understand the dynamics of international relations, sharpen their debating skills, and develop leadership qualities through the simulation of United Nations proceedings.

School Bag distribution program was held at Dhenua F.P. School on 22.08.25 at 11.30 am. Total 195 no of bags were distributed to SC / ST and OBC students being sponsored by PP Rtn. Somnath Gorai and IPP Rtn Surajit Mukherjee Congratulation to all members who had attended our program in Dhenua free Primary school on 22nd August 2025. In Rotary, July is designated as MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTH CARE MONTH. Rotary Club of Asansol Greater observed this month by distributing fruits like 1kg Apple, I kg Musombi, 500 gms Horlicks, 200 gms biscuit packet, Huggies and soft towel for newborn baby to each underprivileged pregnant women, mothers and newborn babies at Central Nursing Homel on 30th July 2025. These items were distributed to all Lactating Mothers who were below the poverty line. This noble work was completed with the permission of Dr. Saswati Chatterjee of Central Nursing Home and their Nursing Staff. 11 Rotarians were present there including our 4 Lady Rotarians.
